The Collective Base
Components and functions
Red: Brake-Segement GRP
Orange: geared sensor transmission, designed as a spring-loaded segment so that there is no clearance on the sensor wheel.
Green: stop for the stick angle, adjustable to the pipe length.
Blue: adjustable brake element support, carrying the brake elements.
Dark cyan: thread for the basic braking force.
Cyan: Adjustment screw for the operating brake force.
As I changed the brake"shoes" in my collective to the new felt pads, I have to higher pretension to them as expected.
Adjusting the ground brake force:
Get the adjusting screw to an open position, then you have to unscrew the visible outer M8 nut (wrench size 13) and turn the inner nut against the aluminum angle.
So the inner part get an additional force to the felt pad.
Fix the outer nut.
If the value of the axis sensor do not remain in its max or min it could be that the sensor gear has lost its position.
To adjust the sensor follow these instructions:
remove the limiter bar, so you can swing the toothed segment out of the sensor block.
But pay attention not to leave the brakepads!
Than you can manually turn the internal gear one tooth right or left and swing the segment in again.
For turning the inner gear a 4mm allen key is helpfull.
Fasten the bar at a position, where the sensor give it max or min.
You can change the working area by turning the inner gear 180°.
